A HOST of activities have been organised to keep children occupied and active this summer.
Chelmsford Council has prepared lots of events for children during the summer holidays, from football in the park to lessons for the aspiring mad scientist and a summer rock school.
The events and courses take place at several different venues throughout the borough, including Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre, Dovedale Sports Centre, Chelmsford Sports and Athletics Centre and South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre.
A Kids Camp will take place from July 28 until August 29, where children can be left at Riverside from 8am to 9am, and take part in swimming, ice-skating, eat lunch and other activities, then picked up between 5pm to 6pm.
Budding music starts may like to visit the Summer Rock School at Dovedale Sports Centre, on Friday August 15, which takes place between 10am and 3pm.
There is also Robot Camp taking place at Dovedale, where 6 to 11-year-old children will get the chance to learn about how robots work and move, as well as making their very own junk robot.
Those in search of a vertical challenge can visit the South Woodham leisure centre, where the different climbing wall sessions will cater for anyone aged between six and 16-years-old.
The South Woodham venue is also hosting a High School Musical Party, where dance routines, basketball games and karaoke will be on offer, on August 22.
Hopeful Hamiltons in the making will get the chance show their racing skills at the Go Karting sessions offered at the sports and athletic centre, held between July 28 and August 18.
The sports and athletic centre also offers a course for young golfers aged four to 9 years-old, on August 15.
All the traditional range of sports courses, including dance, swimming and tennis have also been organised.
